Bonded Dogs Seek Forever Home After Owner's Tragic Hit-and-Run Death |
Family Appeals to Keep Bella and Ally Together Following Fatal Accident |
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — In the wake of a devastating hit-and-run incident, a local family is urgently seeking a loving home for two inseparable dogs left behind.
Joey Henriquez, a cherished member of the community, tragically lost his life after being struck while walking his bicycle across Palm Aire Drive in Pompano Beach.
The driver fled the scene, leaving Henriquez critically injured. He was hospitalized for several days before being declared brain dead. In a final act of generosity, his organs were donated to save others.
Now, his family faces the heart-wrenching task of rehoming his beloved dogs, Bella and Ally. These two have been constant companions, sharing their entire lives together.
Bella, an 8-year-old white American bulldog-boxer mix, and Ally, a 13-year-old tan shepherd-labrador mix, are known for their affectionate nature and love for children. They are a bonded pair and thrive in each other's company.
Currently, Bella and Ally are being cared for at Hounds Town in Broward County, thanks to the generosity of facility owner Toni Jade, who has also covered their veterinary care and vaccinations.
However, this arrangement is temporary. The family is fervently hoping to find a permanent home where the duo can stay together and continue to share their deep bond.

In related news, the Humane Society of Broward County is hosting its annual Black Furrday Adoption Extravaganza on November 28 and 29. This event offers waived adoption fees for select pets and discounts for others, aiming to find loving homes for animals in need.
For more information on the event and available pets, visit the Humane Society of Broward County's website.
Let's come together as a community to support Bella and Ally, ensuring they find a home filled with the love and care they deserve. |
