Authorities have arrested a man following a domestic dispute that escalated to gunfire in Pompano Beach.
On Thursday evening, deputies from the Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Northwest 11th Street.
Upon arrival, they found that an argument between a man and a woman had turned physical, culminating in the man discharging a firearm.
The victim sustained injuries from the altercation but was not struck by the gunfire.
She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Taurean Woods, was taken into custody.
He faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, discharge of a firearm in violation of a court order, robbery by sudden snatching, and deprivation of 911 services.
BSO spokeswoman Claudinne Caro confirmed the details of the incident.
Residents are reminded to seek help if they find themselves in volatile situations, as domestic disputes can quickly escalate to violence.
