Demolition Begins at Festival Marketplace in Pompano Beach

Iconic shopping destination makes way for new industrial development

Demolition has commenced at the Festival Marketplace in Pompano Beach, marking the end of an era for the beloved shopping hub located at 2900 W. Sample Road.

For nearly 40 years, this marketplace was home to over 250 small vendors, offering a diverse array of goods from clothing and electronics to unique international foods.

In its prime, the sprawling indoor market was a bustling center of commerce and community.

However, the landscape of retail has evolved, and the marketplace closed its doors on May 31, 2025, after vendors were notified of the impending closure.

Many business owners, like Hilda Vargas de Matthews of La La Chic, have relocated to new venues, such as the Shoppes at Deerfield, to continue serving their loyal customers.

The site is set to be transformed into Festival Logistics Park, a 474,000-square-foot industrial development comprising three state-of-the-art buildings ranging from 60,000 to 300,000 square feet.

Developed by Foundry Commercial in partnership with Wheelock Street Capital, the project aims to cater to small- to medium-sized tenants, offering modern facilities with 32- to 36-foot clear heights, ESFR sprinkler systems, and dock-high loading.

Two of the buildings will front Sample Road, providing significant visibility for future tenants.

Demolition of existing structures and initial construction are slated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with completion expected by the end of 2026.

This redevelopment is anticipated to create new jobs and contribute positively to the local economy, reflecting the ongoing evolution of Pompano Beach's commercial landscape.
