FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — After a tragic hit-and-run in Pompano Beach claimed the life of Joey Henriquez, his grieving family is urgently searching for a forever home for his two devoted dogs, Bella and Ally.
Henriquez was struck and fatally injured while crossing Palm Aire Drive, and his final act of kindness was to donate his organs to save others.
Bella, an 8-year-old white American bulldog-boxer mix, and Ally, a gentle 13-year-old tan shepherd-labrador mix, are inseparable and affectionate—especially with children.
Currently safe at Hounds Town in Broward County, thanks to owner Toni Jade, their stay is only temporary.
The family desperately hopes to keep these best friends together in a loving local home.
If you’re able to adopt, contact Michelle at michellezymet@gmail.com or 786-295-4819.

Years of community input have shaped features like lush parks, shaded sidewalks, and plazas for gatherings, prioritizing both family fun and small business growth.
A new City Hall will anchor the Civic Commons District, with added amenities including bike lanes, expanded public transit, and accessible green spaces.
